Enrollment is limited to first registered, first served basis.

Jazz band is an auditioned ensemble that meets on Mondays and Wednesdays after school until 3:30. We play a selection of Jazz, Pop, Funk, and quite a bit more. We also play in both theΒ Winter and Spring concerts, and I am always on the lookout for additional performanceΒ opportunities. There is no cost to join, but we will travel to a music festival at the end of the year. This trip will cost something, depending on the overall cost, and how many members we have.Β
LEGO Robotics Club
The LEGO Robotics club registration has ended. If you are interested in joining, please check with Mrs. McDonald in Room B104 to see if there is any room left.
We will be meeting on Thursdays beginning on Thursday, September 11th. Please go to the Auditorium at dismissal and wait for me to come get you at 2:20 pm. We will meet each week through mid-December.
At least 6 students will be able to participate on the Competition Team which will go to WPI to compete in December. The Competition Team will be attending on Tuesdays in addition to Thursdays beginning in October.
Pickup is at 3:30 unless the late bus will be taken.

π Rehearsal Schedule
Weekly Rehearsals – Mandatory
β Tuesdays | 2:10–5:30 PM
Begins September 2, 2025 Prompt pickup required.
Competition Season Rehearsals (January–April):
β Additional Thursdays added as needed.
β During competition weeks, expect Tuesday and Thursday full rehearsals.
β If a Tuesday is canceled (e.g., weather), Thursday becomes a full 2:10–5:30 rehearsal.
Captain’s Practices (Recommended, 1x/month minimum):
β Thursdays | 2:20–3:30 PM

π€ Member Expectations
Attendance
β Mandatory: All rehearsals, competitions, and events.
β Max Allowances: 3 unexcused or 6 total absences = possible dismissal.
β If Sick: Email cmschoir@dcrsd.org and connect with a captain.
β Missed Practice: Attend a Captain’s Practice that week to catch up.
Rehearsal Ready:
β Wear: sneakers, leggings/shorts/sweatpants, t-shirt/tank (no jeans)
β Hair: pulled back completely (including bangs)
β Bring: water bottle and snack
β No phones during rehearsal.
Expectations:
β Practice choreography and vocals at home.
β Be respectful to directors, peers, and guests.
β Represent Mirage positively – including online!
π Academic Standards
β Grades matter: Students failing a class may be removed.
β Support first: You’ll be given a chance to improve grades before dismissal.
β School comes first: Practices can only be missed for academic help (please schedule on non-Mirage days).
β Detentions/suspensions = unexcused absences and may result in removal.
β½ Sports & Outside Activities
January–April (Competition Season): Mirage Comes First!
β Participation in winter sports and cheer/dance is strongly discouraged.
β Town sports practices/games are not excused.
β School sport games:
β Home: Attend Mirage until game starts.
β Away: Must notify directors in advance.
π° Show Cost
Total Cost: $500 (Covers music, choreography, costuming, etc.)

How to Pay:
β Online: Via UniPay (link on CMS website) – choose “CMS MIRAGE CHOIR”
β Check: Payable to “CMS Activity Fund” – include child’s name + “Show Choir” in
the memo.
Costume Notes:
β Measurements taken during rehearsal.
β Costumes are custom and non-refundable.
β All costumes stay at CMS during the season.
β Families must provide a garment bag (Mirage bags available for purchase).
β Clear/nude undergarments may be needed depending on costuming (wait for
guidance).
β If shoes are outgrown, families are responsible for replacement.
Financial Aid
No student will be excluded due to inability to pay. Contact Ms. Winslow or Mrs. Larsen for alternate arrangements or to submit the financial assistance form.
π§Ό Rehearsal Rules & Facility Use
β Food/drink only allowed in chorus room – water only in the auditorium.
β Chorus room must be cleaned after each practice.
β Snacks available for purchase before rehearsal.
β Students report to the auditorium immediately after school.
β Follow all school rules during rehearsal time.

Ski Club

The 2025-2026 Season is Full.
Charlton Middle School Ski Club is run by parent volunteers who work with CMS and Wachusett Mountain in Westminster, MA.
CMS Ski Club is a first come, first serve sign up.
The CMS Ski Club runs for six weeks beginning the first week in January. (day to TBD) If there is no school, there is no Ski Club. The only day that is a non-scheduled day is Columbus Day. In the event of a school snow day falling on a Ski Club day, the day is added to the existing calendar
COST
The cost of the bus varies depending on the number of students and the quote from the bus company. In the past the bus averages between $125 and $130/student.
The pass to Wachusett Mountain is a separate cost. There is an extra charge for rentals and lessons, but both are available to all skiers/snowboarders.
